After a super long hiatus I’m creeping out into the wild music world again with a a fresh new project with my dear friend Dusty Brown. The band is called ‘Little Foxes’. The music is – super catchy, raw, psychedelic, dubstep, nursery rhyme, brokenhearted anthems- and I get to jump around a lot when we play which is good fun! We have set up a facebook page with a few songs (a bunch more to come) and we will be playing a show this Saturday (Aug 21st) at the Town House in Sacramento, California. We are playing a short introductory set to support The New Humans for their e.p. release show. So get there early and have a listen to the new tunes.

What I Talk About When I Talk About Running

Been running again. Well more like slowly jogging- breaking through a lot of resistance to do so and I’m realizing how important it is for me to get out there and burn through the mental bullshit that seems to build up when I sit still for too long. This feels like an important step forward, kind of a metaphor for moving forward with my music which quite frankly has been sitting on a hard drive for too long now. I listened through to some of the demos I’ve quickly recorded over the last year today and I think I’ve got some pretty decent songs up my sleeve. Although I would be quite content never sharing it with anyone, I realize that’s probably not the best way to live ones life, so as I take stock of what I have and what works together as a record (it always has to feel like a record, not just a collection of songs) I’m thinking about the best way to get it out there. Probably through my website or some private pressing, maybe if the right situation comes along… gonna just focus on the record first and then let things come together in the most natural way possible. Onward and upward!

Been working on the next The Battle of Land and Sea record. Really lovely stuff. Very atmospheric and creaky, like an old ship at sea. Nice to stretch out my production skills a bit and work with some gorgeous old recording equipment over at the Hanger.
